Last Friday 12 March 12 Ms. Marta Piazza, head of human rights at Deloitte, gave a lecture to the students of the Master’s Degree in European Integration on “International trade and human rights”. With Mrs. Piazza, students were able to enter into the world of international trade and human rights and understand the conflicts and challenges between these two concepts. Ms. Piazza provided a pragmatic vision and made students reflect on the importance of these rights in the negotiations of international instruments, as well as their influence in world trade. Students also had the opportunity to discuss the role of the EU and the new related mechanisms that it has been implementing in recent years.
