The Barcelona Centre of European Studies (BACES) is proud to announce the upcoming celebration of the Colloquium “España 2023. Presidir el Consejo de la UE en tiempos de crisis” on Feb. 23rd co-organized by the Jean Monnet Chair in European Governance (EUGov).

The event is organized by the think tank Club Tocqueville with the support of the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Governance at Pompeu Fabra University, and the Jean Monnet Chair in European Policies EUPOL at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. The Colloquium will feature three esteemed speakers: Emilio Lamo de Espinosa, former President of Elcano Royal Institute for International and Strategic Studies (2012 – 2021); Javier Zarzalejos, MEP for the European Popular Party since 2019; and Joaquin Almunia, former Economy and Monetary Commissioner (2004 -2009) and Competition (2009 – 2014) in the two Barrosso’s European Commissions.

The venue of the event will be the Headquarters of the European Institutions in Barcelona (Passeig de Gràcia 90, Barcelona) at 7 PM on Thursday, February 23rd.
