Last Friday 21 May the former member of the Legal Service of the European Parliament, Mr. Jose Luis Rufas, gave a seminar on the access to documents of the EU institutions.

The session was in a hybrid format: Part of the audience attended on-site at the Sala de Juntas of the Law Faculty of the UAB, and part of it attended virtually via Microsoft Teams. In his seminar, Mr. Rufas introduced to students the different tools offered to EU citizens to obtain documents, even if they are not uploaded on the web.

Mr. Rufas explained the limited number of exceptions that the EU has for not providing documents, and encourage students to test the online platform by requesting any document.

The session was followed by a fruitful Q&A, which allowed students and researchers to discuss the issue of transparency in the EU.
